Cinnamon essential oil packs a sweet and spicy delight. It is among the most flavorful essential oils having a warm earthy aroma with sweet and peppery notes. This rich essential oil is procured from the bark of cinnamon trees native to South Asia and is used in cuisines, perfumery, cosmetics, and herbal medicines. It provides numerous benefits due to its natural astringent, antibacterial, antifungal, and antioxidant properties.
Application
• Aromatherapy
Cinnamon is popular for being an effective mood enhancer. One whiff of the aroma will teleport you to a bakery with freshly baked goods. When inhaled, cinnamon stimulates the olfactory system to relax your mind and body and reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression.
- Add a few drops of Cinnamon essential oil with water in an automatic diffuser, aroma lamp, or reed diffuser to introduce the aroma into your surroundings.
- Alternatively, you can add a few drops of the oil to a carrier oil or body lotion and massage it onto your skin.
- For benefits on the go, you can dab a few drops on a handkerchief and take it with you.
- Add 1-2 drops of cinnamon essential oil to the face cream and massage the cream into the skin. Alternatively, you can use it directly after mixing the essential oil with a base oil (olive oil, grapeseed oil, etc.) in a proportion (2ml base oil: 1 drop of unilateral essential oil).
- Put 1-2 drops of cinnamon oil into the liquid of the compressed mask and then apply it to the face. Let the oil absorb into the skin by resting it for about 10-15 minutes.
- Introduce 3-4 drops of cinnamon oil into a beauty steamer and let the oil get absorbed into the skin through the vapors.
- Put a few drops of oil in your bathtub, and soak in it to make the skin fresh and smooth. You can also add 2 drops of the essential oil to warm water for a refreshing foot bath.
- In a spray bottle, add 5-10 drops of Citronella essential oil and fill the rest of it with water. Spray it wherever needed to disinfect the area.
- To a cotton ball, soak a blend of citronella oil and coconut oil and apply it topically to the wounded region to disinfect.
- Add 2-3 drops of essential oil to your shampoo while washing your hair.
- Alternatively, add 3-4 drops of cinnamon essential oil to your hair oil and wear it as a mask for a couple of hours before shampooing.
- Combine cinnamon essential oil with olive oil and apply it directly to your gums.
- When taking a bath, add 10 drops of cinnamon essential oil to hot water and soak for at least 10 minutes.
- You can also apply a blend of cinnamon oil and coconut oil to painful points and massage with it.
