Cinnamon essential oil packs a sweet and spicy delight. It is among the most flavorful essential oils having a warm earthy aroma with sweet and peppery notes. This rich essential oil is procured from the bark of cinnamon trees native to South Asia and is used in cuisines, perfumery, cosmetics, and herbal medicines. It provides numerous benefits due to its natural astringent, antibacterial, antifungal, and antioxidant properties. Application • Aromatherapy Cinnamon is popular for being an effective mood enhancer. One whiff of the aroma will teleport you to a bakery with freshly baked goods. When inhaled, cinnamon stimulates the olfactory system to relax your mind and body and reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression.
  • Add a few drops of Cinnamon essential oil with water in an automatic diffuser, aroma lamp, or reed diffuser to introduce the aroma into your surroundings.
  • Alternatively, you can add a few drops of the oil to a carrier oil or body lotion and massage it onto your skin.
  • For benefits on the go, you can dab a few drops on a handkerchief and take it with you.
• Skincare Cinnamon is supplemented with anti-fungal, antioxidant and antibacterial properties that fight against skin woes such as acne, aging, dullness, redness, hyperpigmentation, and environmental damage. It builds up collagen and boosts blood flow to the face, which makes skin healthier and more elastic.
  • Add 1-2 drops of cinnamon essential oil to the face cream and massage the cream into the skin. Alternatively, you can use it directly after mixing the essential oil with a base oil (olive oil, grapeseed oil, etc.) in a proportion (2ml base oil: 1 drop of unilateral essential oil).
  • Put 1-2 drops of cinnamon oil into the liquid of the compressed mask and then apply it to the face. Let the oil absorb into the skin by resting it for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Introduce 3-4 drops of cinnamon oil into a beauty steamer and let the oil get absorbed into the skin through the vapors.
  • Put a few drops of oil in your bathtub, and soak in it to make the skin fresh and smooth. You can also add 2 drops of the essential oil to warm water for a refreshing foot bath.
• Disinfectant Cinnamon essential oil possesses antibacterial and antifungal properties which fight these organisms. It can prevent oral infections and cavities, protect wounds by disinfecting them, and serves as an excellent cleansing agent to kill microorganisms from infecting your house. It attacks fungal infections and a range of bacteria and germs to provide preventative and protective features.
  • In a spray bottle, add 5-10 drops of Citronella essential oil and fill the rest of it with water. Spray it wherever needed to disinfect the area.
  • To a cotton ball, soak a blend of citronella oil and coconut oil and apply it topically to the wounded region to disinfect.
• Haircare Cinnamon has been traditionally been used to promote hair growth and thickness. It is also known to facilitate scalp health by treating scalp acne and preventing any form of infection on the scalp. The oil works by increasing blood circulation to the hair follicles and nourishing them to grow healthier.
  • Add 2-3 drops of essential oil to your shampoo while washing your hair.
  • Alternatively, add 3-4 drops of cinnamon essential oil to your hair oil and wear it as a mask for a couple of hours before shampooing.
• Oral Health Cinnamon is found to be an effective ingredient in toothpaste and mouthwashes as it can support oral health through its antimicrobial and antifungal properties. It can be used to sanitize your dentures, retainers, and mouth guards or be added to your oral hygiene products to prevent infections.
  • Combine cinnamon essential oil with olive oil and apply it directly to your gums.
• Relieves Fatigue and Pain Cinnamon consists of a high amount of antioxidants and is also enriched with anti-inflammatory properties, which allows it to naturally reduce pain in an equal magnitude to allopathic pain medications. It is also a great tool to regulate blood sugar levels that can help you feel less tired by preventing a sugar crash.
  • When taking a bath, add 10 drops of cinnamon essential oil to hot water and soak for at least 10 minutes.
  • You can also apply a blend of cinnamon oil and coconut oil to painful points and massage with it.
